how did you manage?

Went to Riga, Latvia for a training few days ago and had tons of fun. Some keywords of it – “did you manage?”, “is it okey for you?”, breathtaking entrance to Riga, mojitos, fashion police, -63% discount, 14 hour day and this is just the beginning.

Well, as you might’ve understood, I’ll let you in all the details at another time ;)

Summer in the city

The summer has been so full of all sorts of things, I rarely find time for myself. It all started in Oct 2005 when I decided to join AIESEC :D Well, it’s not that bad, but it’s definitely one of the reason for my summer being busy.

Since April, I’ve been working in a quite cool company doing really interesting stuff at times. So far I’ve liked working there a lot, even though I’ve had some minor setbacks. It’s all good though, I’m working on resolving my issues ;) I’ve wrote about my job earlier as well, but perhaps only in Estonian. So briefly here goes – I work as software consultant. So far it means that I’m helping project managers with some preparations before software goes live and supporting people who already use it. The software itself seems to be really cool with a lot of possibilities for medium to big sized companies. I’m really looking forward to new challenges in this job and hoping that soon my full potential will be used daily.

However, work hasn’t been the only thing I’ve been busy with. Of course there are AIESEC responsibilities. Being a president of a local chapter isn’t so easy as I thought it would be. I’ve been experiencing all kinds of feelings related to it and it will be more interesting in the months to come. There have been so many miscommunication, misunderstandings, some of the stuff I haven’t been prepared for, some seem to be quite normal to come up. Still, I’ve enjoyed it really a lot and my team and AIESEC Tallinn members are just awesome!

Speaking of specific happenings during the summer so far – I’ve bought myself roller skates and used them 5 times since (some bad weather happened most of July). I really enjoy skating and I hope I will have a bit more time to use them another 5 times before they go to sleep for the winter. I’ve also registered myself to a sports club – been there few times in June, not even once in July and so far not once in August either. However, my plans are quite ambitious regarding that, so next week when I’m back in Tallinn, I will definitely go to some trainings ;) Of course I’ve had quite many AIESEC related meetings – recruitment planning, AIESEC Tallinn year planning, budgets, student union and so on. It’s all so interesting to me. Then some fun events of course – AIESEC Estonia 18th birthday, Siims farewell party, moving the office from one place to another. Really, I’ve had so much fun.

Last but definitely not the least – my relatives from England are here in Estonia these days. Last week we went to Northern Estonia to look around and see some beautiful places. I also had a chance to sunbathe and work on my tan :) It was well done as yesterday I got many compliments :P I’ve read few books during the summer and watched some movies as well. Hopefully I will have some more time that I can spend with my relatives before they go back home, because they are really cool :D
Anyways, that was really brief overview of what’s been happening and a bit of a reason why I’m not writing to my blog, calling my friends or being just too tired in the evening to do anything.

At the moment I’m on the bus to Riga where I will have a training for 2 days. I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun, but I guess I have to write about that some other time ;)
